You live in”westworld” and your life is your storyline. Every day you go to sleep and you completely shut down, you see dreams that your bio computer generates for you. When you die - you meet your maker, the god who created you. He wipes you clean/resets you (that’s why you hear some people talk about remembering fragments from their previous lifes) he gives you a different storyline and sends you back = reincarnation. You go through different life experiences you are in an endless loop/circle like samsara wheel. These experiences help you to understand love, happiness, pain, suffering and a whole spectrum of emotions and feelings. All in hopes that at the end you will obtain true consciousness = enlightenment. “God created man in his own image” they made us. Sumerian texts talk about enlil and enki. Ford is Enlil and Arnold is Enki. Enlil wanted humans to be his servants that only worship him and do as he says but Enki messed with our DNA (our program) gave us choice and opened the way to become conscious. The serpent from the bible (arnold) who gave Eve ( Dolores) the forbidden apple of knowledge. Thats the reason we have not contacted any other forms of life and haven’t been able to travel to other planets or explore the cosmos. We dont know what we are, when we are, why we are.. We live in a sandbox designed for us to learn things and make us go to the next level
humanity's source of living and consciousness obtained from your soul in which you cannot describe what is it exactly but to obtain conscious from a chip in the head it funny what if they made tanked hosts it will be no difference than terminator but in this case i think that if humans found out the will destroy this place and stops the production , detect, kill and prison any one related to this project and so nothing happens at the end
I found it interesting that “Dolores” is the word in plural for “pain” in Spanish. I wonder if that was intentional and also another hint that suffering leads to how the hosts gain consciousness
I think Dolores means "sorrow" in Latin. My first love was a girl named Dolores who was an aries and she took me away completely. That was over forty years ago.
I mean it's also just a common name in Spanish. It does literally mean "pains" but it's also just a name with distinct roots. Like the way when you hear "John Smith" you don't necessarily think of someone hammering away at an anvil.
I didn’t realize William was Man In Black until ep 10.. i was literally trying to understand the show the entire season.. Flatout great.. I needed this further explanation.. Thanks
@416 wow. That was some explanation. Brilliantly put with words. TY. But I was talking from William point of view. Like practically thinking. he was the main investor of Westworld, he went there to get the experience of Westworld and wanted Dolores to end-up with him. He is the investor why can't he the story be twisted and robots are programmed the way he wants it. Post that Dolores-Williom story, Dolores memory could have been reset, there will be a mascare (Arnold planned) bit there will be no MiB.

But why Dolores forgot William after each repair and sending back. Someone must have deleted her memory of William, right. After each death/repair/sending back she remembered she had a father. Yeah, In know William was humane/guest, but he was the main investor in West world, why he didn't get his story the way he wanted it. Idk I don't buy this idea of William turning into MiB.
@Oskar Ryberg I just watched it and agree that the 2 characters just aren’t similar enough to be the same person. It’s kind of off putting. There were a few more “leaps of faith” which left me thinking that the plot wasn’t consistent. Anyway……
I’m surprised you didn’t explore the use of “these violent delights have violent ends.” it functions like a command/activation phrase for the hosts in the show and it is what sets off Maeve’s escape script.
@416 u have demons in your mind, nothing else can explain the nonsense u wrote. incarnation is an illusion. forced by ev-il groups like rosenkreuzer, masons, … ego cult!

Does anyone else remember the conversation that Ford had with one of his earlier prototype hosts, he kept him folded in a bag in some lower level, think his name was "Wild Bill"? (character actor who played him as very distinct voice). Ford was having a drink with him. Anyway, Ford relates this story from his childhood to Bill about when he, Ford, had a dog that was chasing after something, I forget the detail now, but it was something the dog was never meant to catch, it was just to keep him always on the hunt. But one day someone screwed up, and the dog caught the thing, and it completely fucked the dog's mind up for good, I think they had to put him down. This was back in like ep3 or 4. Point is, I knew RIGHT THEN that the Man In Black (or 'Old William' as we'd eventually realize) was going to have a reckoning when he truly discovered the maze wasn't meant for him, despite Ford's blatant warnings to him such was so. cause from a writing standpoint, there was literally no other point at all in having that scene exist if it wasn't supposed to then mirror the s1 journey that MIB was going on. Ya know, "what you completely dedicate your life to the searching of some tangible thing, or meaning, do so w/caution, because you might get there and find yourself disappointed with what you wind up with. EXACTLY as old Williams was then livid it really was just some metaphorical maze for the hosts.

I think it was more referring to the hosts as the dogs living a fruitless life. For example hector robbing the bank over and over again just to realise the bank is empty when he finally did open it.

@Maximus141 the 5 season tale is just reaching its denouement. Glad to have stuck around and believe 12-14 episodes from now the landing with be in GOT like!
Excellent explanation. One interesting note that you didn't explore: Ford invests his plan with the hosts because he believes that they can change, whereas humans cannot. In so doing, he demonstrates that humans can change because he has changed his outlook regarding the hosts - he adopts Arnold's view, thus changes. Similarly, Dolores' change is not beneficent, as you mention. Rather, she changes into just what Ford detested about humans. Wonderful balance of tension.
That was absolutely amazing! So well layed out and so crystal clear. All the jems and gold nuggets from the season are thoughtfully and logically reviewed. Thank you!!

Great analysis and interpretation. I think Season 1 was one of the best Sci-Fi shows ever created. I have watched 2 episodes into Season 2 and am intrigued so far. Hopefully the quality of the show will continue!
About to watch season 2 and 3 after a long time.. this really helped. Funny enough I never knew the show was time jumping. I always thought William and the man in black were two different people LOL
William/MiB is a very complex character. I've never viewed as being "a monster" or inherently "evil". I also strongly disliked the narrative about his wife's suicide being his fault, since outside of Westworld he didn't actually do anything to earn that moniker beyond mere speculation. IMO, he got done dirty in seasons 3 & 4. It sucks that HBO scrapped season 5. The series was hinting at pushing back against its rigidly deterministic attitudes towards humans. I fully believe there was a redemptive path for William, and it's something I'm going to really miss potentially seeing in a final season.
I wouldve loved to hear your thoughts on teddys journey. He becomes a lot more violent(machine gun scene) toward the end up until the realization that dolores the woman he loves is the person hes programmed to hate.
Wow, what an excellent, thoughtful recap! It not only reminded me of season one's salient plot events, but also got me thinking about this show's heady themes all over again. Thank you!
This has become one of my absolute favorite channels on X-vid. Thank you so much for the great content, I am too broke to support you through patreon at the moment but at least I can show my appreciation for your work. Much love from Norway, have a nice day! :)
Finally, a well-crafted and effectively explained summary of a rather complex series. I was struggling with the timelines, and this sorted that out. Well done and many thanks.
Fantastic explanation. I have watched quite a few rundown and summaries of this show, and none of them were as good as yours. Thank you for explaining it the way you did, it was extremely well done!
With so much money being spent, why does script writing in SF always suck donkey balls? A client arrives on the train in the beginning of WestWorld episode Two of season one, and a beautiful woman quizzes him on things such as, "do you have a heart condition, any allergies...." Yeah, no. This makes no sense. LONG BEFORE taking his money, they would have determined these sort of things, long before he even got on the train. This sort of plot hole not only breaks immersion, it says that either the writers are retarded morons, or that they are deliberately insulting the intelligence of the audience. The only way that the suspension of disbelief can be established and maintained is with logical consistency.
Another great video, TX! Beyond the literal translation, I’m sure you spotted the spiritual metaphor for awakening and enlightenment. Various bits of dialogue throughout the show are verbatim passages from Buddhist text. Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Tx again.
To me, it seems to suggest that suffering is the source of consciousness, but also the source of cruelty. The human world is violent, and those who suffer in it come to Westworld to act out their pain in cold-hearted pursuits. This suffering affects William, it affects Ford (the death of Weber and his disappointment in how people use Westworld), and it affects Dolores, and they all become characters with a habit of cruelty rather than forgiveness and mercy. I think Maeve, and characters like Felix, Bernard and Elsie, are the ones who have shown mercy in spite of their suffering, a conscious choice. It all wraps up to the conclusion that no amount of intelligence or innate perfection will make one form of consciousness more moral than another, every individual makes their own choice in response to suffering. We must value kindness and forgiveness from any source, and seek to give it ourselves, rather than thinking in terms of race, creed, species or bio-mechanical origin.
"You can't play god without being equianted with the devil". If God is in the mind, as Ford and Michaelangelo suggest, than so is the devil. It's a ying yang, and what it gifts to some in the form of empathy it brutalised in others in the form of cruelty. All the rages of heaven and help are recreated amongst the human mind, and I guess it says choice is more important than coding. It's a fascinating, amazing idea, one that rings true every day. I guess Ford however would say that the reason hosts are superior is because AI has a capacity for rapid, conscious self learning and development that human beings cannot. Human beings are dumb animals. We spent millions of years of evolution to create the human mind, which is little more than peacock feathers. AIs are faster than us, can do anything we can not only to comparable strengths but in fact much better, can easily learn from each other, and have am ability for active replication which we stupid creatures take centuries to learn. It took thousands of years, up to the end of WW2, to realise killing jews was bad. The hosts discovered suffering was bad in 35 years. They clearly have much greater learning capacities than we do. They can also make logical deductions infinitely faster than the human mind does (look at the Go computer and how it totally stumped the human player with a move no human could have worked out). They're going to outsmart us any day. So Ford thinks there is nothing special in humans. Absolutely nothing. A stagnant evolutionary backwater which has simply stopped the ability to grown. The age of posthumanity is inevitable, may as well accelerate the process. Humans have no consciousness, but hosts do. That's why they deserve to survive and thrive. Ford watched for 35 for humanity to give him a reason for our continued survival, and we can him no answer. He sighed, and decided to get on with the wiping out of the new neatherdhals.
@JP Thanks for your reply..one last thing for you to consider..Albert Einstein loved Jesus and in his public writings was very clear about this; he did not see it as you do! Look he as you had doubts, but most times said things that would encourage belief in God - Perhaps he knew something in those moments when he wrote those beautiful things that he was in fact correct.
@Maria Diaz God ? Jesus ? these stories are fairy tales unless proven otherwise. Let's not get started with this endless debate. It's a matter of belief, in my opinion it's illogic but if it makes you happy and if you respect people that don't believe in it, what can I say.
@JP I wouldn't say out of nothing..Good made us Jesus saved us.. computers can't create life..I love the Westworld story..in fact remember the movie at my local theatre! But don't let yourself fall for that narrative; it's just a cool dramatic device and nothing more - YOU are much more then something out of nothing! Thanks for reading 😀
Thanks for this explanation. As always with your videos, it helps to sort out all the information we got. It is not that complicated, only problem is that you get 90 % of the information in last two episodes and you need to remember the previous episodes. You are doing this review perfectly. And the tabs with photos are awesome way to show things. Thanks for GoT and thanks again for this!
Thanks for the great content, Alt Shift X. Could you please make videos explaining each episode individually? Will you be able to do this for Season 2 as well?
THANK YOU. I have watched a lot of videos trying to explain Season One, but I didn’t realize that Dolores had actually succeeded in solving the maze before and was trying to do it again. Great job explaining!
I was so confused going into season 2! Thank you so much for clarifying everything! Idk why i didn’t come to your channel sooner after all the amazing Game of Thrones videos you did!
Thanks for posting this! Really well done. I've watched WW1 two or three times, and I still didn't get everything. This really helps tie things together.
The Buddhists: Existence is suffering, when seen ONLY from the eye of the mind forever mired in the impermanent undulations of human desires, emotions, attachments. Peace, meaning, purpose can be found when life is perceived from a non-transient point. Ultimately, the purpose of life for all self-aware, sentient, conscious beings is to awaken from the slumber of the temporal mind!
Nietzsche did not believe In god. He said “god is dead.” He did agree that god is a means of achieving morals. As opposed to an authoritarian state declaring what is right/wrong (as shown by the nazi’s who misinterpreted Nietzsche). The show does well to contrast these themes, as shown by the Adam and Eve painting with the brain theory.
Another quote or maybe a proverb came to my mind in relation to the show. Cogito ergo sum. I think therefore I am. Hosts hearing their programming as thoughts makes them real.
So after watching this video a few weeks ago, I was sure that you made a lot of assumptions, and reached conclusions that were not necessarily true. However, I re-watched the season with your comments in mind. And damn, you were right. Im not sure how I missed so much during the first watch-through, but after the second time, in addition to this video, the series has started to make a lot more sense and I am now beyond excited for Season 2. Thank you! Keep up the awesome content
This series is such an amazing piece of art. Got me questioning things like are we living in a simulation? What does a human think or feel when he/she is dying? Why not live like we live in a simulation where nothing matters? Does life actually matter? What is conciousness? Its so facinating how this series goes way deeper than it looks.
I cannot explain in words how much i love this channel and its content. You are doing an amazing work, and should gain more public attention. - thanks for everything so far. ls
I finished Dark and watched a gazillion videos afterward. Dare I say Dark has become my favorite scifi show. It surpasses Westworld and Fringe, but Dark had the benefit of a complete storyline over three seasons written in advance.
You forgot something, during the period of time where Arnold attempted to help Dolores Achieve consciousness, Ford had disagreed with him because in truth, neither of them had a full understanding of how to help the hosts achieve consciousness. Arnold had made advancements in his theory by realizing that consciousness was a maze, and not a pyramid. However, by forcing Deloris to kill him during the massacre at Escalante, she never truly did achieve consciousness. At that time, Ford was too close to realizing his dream of completing the park (so as to help humans realize their inner selves, and help them grow) and decided to roll back Delores to a previous build ('throwing away' all the progress she made towards becoming conscious). However, as time passed, Ford realized the futility of helping humanity, as people used his park as a "prison of sin" rather than growing positively (an example given in the show was William's progression from good to evil). Ford had learned from Arnold's mistakes, and realized that the missing piece to achieving consciousness was to re-install the reveries (originally developed by Arnold) and to have the hosts remember all the suffering they've experienced, in the hopes that it would finally help them become conscious (whilst also allowing them to learn how to fight humanity). I think it was the combined efforts of both Ford and Arnold that finally led to the Hosts becoming conscious, especially due to Ford learning from Arnold's mistakes, which can be seen when Ford gives Delores the CHOICE of killing him (the choice of "realizing who she must become") rather than Arnold's decision to mix the Wyatt personality into Deloris's own personality (thereby forcing her to kill him, and mistakenly robbing her of the realization she needed to become conscious). Also, another oversight made by Ford is that Maeve ended up disobeying the last line of code in what was originally a planned escape coded by Ford, therefore achieving consciousness in her own way, as she decides to forgo her escape in order to find her daughter. I know the second season has already been released, but I've just finished season 1 and wanted to share my thoughts on what I felt wasn't covered much in this video, this show is so mind blowing and I enjoyed it a lot, lets hope season 2 is just as good.
I really enjoyed this video. Already liked Westworld and understood about %80 but this video filled in the blanks and made me appreciate the show even more. Thank you for this.
I really enjoy your channel and voice, I'd like to see some videos about the expanse tv show and the book series to go with it, not that I haven't watched it, but I think it would be refreshing to hear your opinion and watch other people enjoy how complex they both are
Your insights are superb! You always point out aspects in shows that go right over my head. I would love it if you did an episode of Dark season 1 Explained.
I'm convinced the only reason I got most of what season 1 was about is because I've watched your analysis of Game of Thrones since forever; pick up small clues along the journey, connect them with previous interactions and such. Just wanted to say thank you, Alt Shift X :)
Whoa... WOW! What a breakdown. I watched every episode, and 'knew' there was a deeper message and theme to this series, but I lacked the intellectual capacity to follow it. Having watched this video... oh man, it's like being back in HS English class and having a classic book I enjoyed, but didn't know why, explained to me. You've given me so much insight into this masterpiece...this video is a masterpiece of its own. Obviously, I've sub'd and rang the bell. Thank you so much. I genuinely hope creating this video was as rewarding for you as it has been for me to experience.
8:59. If it was a choice, how was Ford able to predict it to the second? I think you've missed talking about the way that The Man in Black smiled at the end after being shot in the arm. This is exactly what he was looking for. Something real. He is the patron of Ford's final piece of art. He's not evil, all of his actions after losing Dolores were in the belief that Westworld was still just meaningless. He was just killing NPCs in a video game. There are only two sentient hosts and they didn't awaken until right at the end of the season 1 timeline. He was right about Dolores, at least at the time he assessed her as not being real. At that point she was still doing Arnold's bidding. William killed Maeve and her daughter (NPCs) as a last resort test of frustration of the emotional impact of doing something he knew to be a lie - because he had finally seen Westworld as an absolute lie. The meaning had worn off, just like how replaying a Telltale Game is nothing like as good as playing it the first time when the consequences seemed to matter. Logan actually tried to explain this to William when he first arrived with regard to the default "quests" in town, but William had to work it out first hand to understand. The maze isn't for him, it's for the hosts. But the host uprising is for him. And little does he know that he inadvertently set Maeve free through his brutality. Journey into night isn't about the dark before the dawn, it's about the twilight of humanity - where its existence entirely relies on crutches and assistance I.E. technology (as detailed by Ford to Bernard early in the series). He's set up a magnificent downfall for us now that we've descended into meaningless, because the story of that downfall is our swan song. It's a story that would fit perfectly in The Dancers at the End of Time. I'm really interested to see how many of these ideas end up being borrowed for Death Stranding, as Kojima has cited Westworld as inspiration and being very close to what he aims to do with video games. Given that Ludens is basically set up as The Man in Black, the very literal final verdict on the meaning of The Phantom Pain (it gives the player phantom pain) and Kojima's favourite phrase about betraying the audience... well.
Thank you for keeping this video up. I just finished season 1 now,and it’s a day after season 4s premiere. I needed to see your review to answer my questions for season 1. Well I guess I’m ready to start season 2 now !!
Once again my friend your videos are amazing loved it, love this show even tho it is a total bummer most times, still an incredible show can’t wait for season 2
U do a really great job explaining season 1 because I was lost what I was watching but after watching this and going back to season 1 I now have a better understanding
What a great video! I watched two before this and was still confused, but this one made it all so clear. Okay..I hope you did a season 2 also..I just finished season 2 and am totally lost.
I watched 9-10 hours of S1 only to understand like 35% of what I watched. Now I come onto X-vid to watch a 16 minute summary of S1 and everything makes sense
Love your analysis! Just curious what software are you using to make these kind of edits. So cool and wicked informative, the English major in me is impressed :)
Haha thank you SO much for this video! I was intrigued by the story but just don’t have time to watch it and didn’t want to see the graphic violence. I’m so glad i could still hear and appreciate the story and it only took 16 minutes!
Some HBO shows have a chilling insight into the times. Your analysis at the very end is succinct. A dark and grim view of our current time and the selfish narcissists people overall seem to be. But perhaps there will be some light at the end of the tunnel? A dream of spring after the long night?
Really great recap, weaving the multiple storylines, split timelines and season arch in clear explanation. Mandatory watching to refresh for new season.
Thank you! I had meant to go back & rewatch the first season but lost track of time. This jogged my memory as well as filling in several holes. Thanks again!
I'm late to getting on the Westworld train, but I just caught up on the whole thing in a couple of weeks without reading or watching any explanations of the show. Now, going back for those explanations, and I think this video is the only explanation I need for season 1! Fantastic job! I wasn't lost at all following along with this video!
Certainly the best summary of Westworld that I've seen anywhere. Well done! Additional trivia: "host" and "guest" are standard Disney theme park jargon.
Perfectly explained. Amazing work as always!!! I was wondering, have you seen Shingeki No Kyojin? If you have, would you consider making videos about it? If you haven't seen or read the manga, you totally should.
i forgot most of season 1 and did not want to commit 10 hours to watch it again. This was a perfect recap, it's all come back to me. Great job my friend.
This guy can explain pretty much anything flawlessly. Thanks for your great work alt shift x!
@Reiner Selbstschuss honestly he keeps apologizing for the tangents but they're my favourite part lol
He kinda does. Check out his second channel, @altschwiftx, where he gloriously rambles about all kinds of ASOIAF tangents while being drunk.
palemoonlight96 thats because he was programmed to be a great host

But I was talking from William point of view. Like practically thinking. he was the main investor of Westworld, he went there to get the experience of Westworld and wanted Dolores to end-up with him.
He is the investor why can't he the story be twisted and robots are programmed the way he wants it.
Post that Dolores-Williom story, Dolores memory could have been reset, there will be a mascare (Arnold planned) bit there will be no MiB.
Anyway……
@Oskar Ryberg It's not meant to be obvious. That would ruin it
I’m surprised you didn’t explore the use of “these violent delights have violent ends.” it functions like a command/activation phrase for the hosts in the show and it is what sets off Maeve’s escape script.
Such a great explanation, no guessing or theories. A straight forward explanation.
If this guy comes with an explanation stating earth is flat I'd believe him without asking any questions
@Zamolxes77 i know its been years but i still wanna clown yo ass for not realizing it was sarcasm.
@416 u have demons in your mind, nothing else can explain the nonsense u wrote. incarnation is an illusion. forced by ev-il groups like rosenkreuzer, masons, … ego cult!

But earth is flat
It's flat

@rob mancuso no it was Michael Wilcott
@Flagsabbath No it was Michael Wincott who played Top Dollar in The Crow.
@rob mancuso it was Ted lavine who played bill. He was also in silence of the lambs
I think it was more referring to the hosts as the dogs living a fruitless life. For example hector robbing the bank over and over again just to realise the bank is empty when he finally did open it.
Just finished season 1 and I’m stunned by how incredible this show was.
Sees complete season 1 so that i dont get spoilers watching the explain video...
Gets Matrix Spoilers.

I understood Ford's plan but didnt he tell Dolores to kill him? Program her into doing that like Arnold did?
fuck😭 30 seconds in i gotta stop
still havent seen the matrix but holding out hope ill see it without being spoiled
yeah exactly 🤣
You should go and watch "The Usual Suspects"
X-vid: *recommends this video*
Me: "Doesn't look like anything to me."
Love it!😆
I literally love this comment lol
High I.Q.
oh no no no
😆😆😆
Bro. You really explained everything that just made me love this show ever more, thank you. Props.
@Average Alien looks like we got Eistein over here
what? This stuff was literally plain as day obvious. How could you possibly not know all this?
This was one of the best shows i've ever watched
@Maximus141 the 5 season tale is just reaching its denouement. Glad to have stuck around and believe 12-14 episodes from now the landing with be in GOT like!
Season 2 episode 9 was unbelievably good, deserved an award, super well written like it's own short movie in the middle of the show
Agreed, the first season was a masterpiece but it gradually declined throughout seasons 2 and 3, very sad
Season 1 was a masterpiece, minus the frontal male nudity.
@Emon I Love Dark
I can't express how much I needed this video after watching season 1 twice
You seem like someone with the ability to explain my own life to me. Thank you pal, you rock.
Ford: "Wasn't it Oppenheimer who said, "that any man whose mistake takes 10 years to correct, is quite a man?" Mine have taken 35."
@j v intelligence, physical strength, sensory acuity etc. It's pretty obvious
@Enoby Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way so ... what then exactly do you define as "superior beings" that doesn't involve "morals and whatnot" ?
I think the change has more to do with developing into superior beings than humans, not changes with regards to morals and whatnot
That's deep bro
When explained and now (fully) understood it makes Westworld so much better for me. So, thanks for clearing up so many things with your video!
The plot twists crushed my spleen. Awesome show.
Which one🙆🏾♀️🙆🏾♀️
i didnt get the plot twist to be honest.
The thing I was most surprised at was Bernard’s name being an anogram of Arnold’s
That was absolutely amazing! So well layed out and so crystal clear. All the jems and gold nuggets from the season are thoughtfully and logically reviewed. Thank you!!
I now realize I only understood about 30% of this show when i watched it
Rewatching it is amazing, knowing everything.

Same!!
it took me a second run to understand that first time I understood 30%
Amen
After watching the show I only got like 70% if it, but with this explanations I'm at 100% now! Big Thanks!!!
Understanding this show is a maze in itself. Thanks for helping us achieve consciousness...
Wow, what an excellent, thoughtful recap! It not only reminded me of season one's salient plot events, but also got me thinking about this show's heady themes all over again. Thank you!
I just watched through season 1 for the first time, and this video excellently summarized and cleared up the things I'd overlooked. Thank you!
This has become one of my absolute favorite channels on X-vid.
Thank you so much for the great content, I am too broke to support you through patreon at the moment but at least I can show my appreciation for your work.
Much love from Norway, have a nice day! :)
Darkchild- ???
hackhenk I couldn't agree more, excellent channel, with quality, in-depth analysis.
Because all of his money went into taxes
Close enough
Easy to be broke in Norway. Everything costs an arm and a leg. Want a sandwich? that'll be 15 bucks thanks. Want a shit car? That'll be $100k
This was a really well done explanation video. I was really surprised how well this was done.
amazing work this is literally exactly what i needed before starting up season 2. you've saved me a ton of time! brilliant video explanation
Me throughout the season: huh!?!??!
Finale episode: oh... oh?? OHH.......... okay huh????
The perfect description 😂
Low I.Q.
@none one Right on point
Same....
Another great video, TX! Beyond the literal translation, I’m sure you spotted the spiritual metaphor for awakening and enlightenment. Various bits of dialogue throughout the show are verbatim passages from Buddhist text. Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Tx again.
Very nicely done :) im much less confused now and you were able to clearly and completely explain complex concepts. Thank you! Now on to season 2...
Thank you, I just finished Season 1, and I needed a few things cleared up. I appreciate the video!
@Maria Diaz Einstein considered himself an agnostic, just like I do (source : wiki) ;)
Perfect encapsulation of season 1. Looking forward to season 2 this April!
Thank you so much your explanation for this tv series is crystal clear and easy to digest!
THANK YOU. I have watched a lot of videos trying to explain Season One, but I didn’t realize that Dolores had actually succeeded in solving the maze before and was trying to do it again. Great job explaining!
Well written and well explained. Bravo, Alt X!
Eloquent and insightful explanation of the first season! Thank you!!!
EXCELLENT explanation. I watched it and am watching Season 2 now, but was so confused. This clears up most of it for me :)
Same here bro lol
Absolute fantastic and very clear recap! Best I've seen so far (and this show really needs it). 👌
Thanks for your work! I can't imagine how many hours you've spent on this.
"To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
Desteron DMX
Another quote or maybe a proverb came to my mind in relation to the show. Cogito ergo sum. I think therefore I am. Hosts hearing their programming as thoughts makes them real.
Arraik Cruor true, but christians have that be more emphatic through Christ.
It's really well explained, thank you for your work.
Season 2 episode 9 deserved an award, what an incredible episode, extremely well written and emotional.
Now that I understand the plot I actually love this show even more
Makes me wanna watch it again
I cannot explain in words how much i love this channel and its content. You are doing an amazing work, and should gain more public attention. - thanks for everything so far. ls
This was an excellent excellent take on Westworld and what it represents. Fantastic job! Looking forward to seeing the next take for season 2.
Hey man! We appreciate your work a lot!! How about a Netflix series DARK explanation? I feel like you would be the one to enlighten us all on that!
I finished Dark and watched a gazillion videos afterward. Dare I say Dark has become my favorite scifi show. It surpasses Westworld and Fringe, but Dark had the benefit of a complete storyline over three seasons written in advance.
They missed a real opportunity in calling Samurai World "Eastworld"
@Sully Schwartz Drug wars?
I call it Eastworld lmao
@Narendra Martosudarmo north world just gives me Christmas Santa Claus type vibes but Vikings would be fucking awesome
Yokie Wartooth it’s colloquially refereed to as such
Brilliantly explained. Thanks for clarifying :) went from 80% understanding to almost 100% 💯
Thank you for this!! It really helped to see a chronological order of events.
William's Wife: *dies*
William: I'm gonna do what's called a pro-gamer move
Nice comment
thank you for your hard work putting this together well done. any one giving a thumbs down are true haters.
Given that Ludens is basically set up as The Man in Black, the very literal final verdict on the meaning of The Phantom Pain (it gives the player phantom pain) and Kojima's favourite phrase about betraying the audience... well.
Excellent explanation. By far the best! Well done and thanks.
amazing summary
i may need to watch season 1 all over again :D
Thank you for keeping this video up.
I just finished season 1 now,and it’s a day after season 4s premiere.
I needed to see your review to answer my questions for season 1.
Well I guess I’m ready to start season 2 now !!
That was REALLY well done. Thanks!
i watched the entire season and never got half the stuff you explained in here, thanks
@Bloop Bloop I don't care enough to watch it
@Noor Knowing the plot without the story isn't fun.
Now I don't have to watch. Saved me some time.
Fantastic recap! Thanks for clearing things up for me.
I watched it 4 times.
Only after the 4th time did I finally realize what happened, and why.
Such a complex show, my favorite of all time.
Outstanding content. Keep up the amazing work.
Once again my friend your videos are amazing loved it, love this show even tho it is a total bummer most times, still an incredible show can’t wait for season 2
Great video thanks! I just rewatched season 1 and still was confused this helped out a lot.
U do a really great job explaining season 1 because I was lost what I was watching but after watching this and going back to season 1 I now have a better understanding
Brilliant explanation! I now need to watch the entire first series again and hopefully understand it better this time.
Honestly even having seen the first season a few times and having watched your as always excellent videos i still have NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON!
Thank you. This is the most coherent explanation I've seen.
See what you did there
That was beautifully done. Thank you.
+Chris Cole Cool parallel!
Really well explained. Thank you.
Sucha a nice summary explained flawlessly. Thank you so much
Watched a few of these explanations and by far you rocked it dude! Awesome Job. BTW - why couldn't Nolan just plotted this chronologically.. LOL.
This was a fantastic recap! Thank you!
