I watched this fight live last night. First of all, the energy is this arena was amazing . I’ve never seen so much emotion from a crowd, if there’s a rematch they can take all my money. Now, i was rooting for Spence, but I believed Porter had a slight edge until the KNOCKDOWN. I feel that that’s what sealed the deal, before that I believed Porter had it by 1-2 points.
Respect to both. Never seen Spence pushed to this level.

Epic fight, Shawn! I had you winning that fight clearly if not for the knockdown. You swept the first four rounds. Not sure how two of
the judges had him winning by wider margins than Errol deserved but it was an epic fight! Great performance by Porter. Errol hung in there and got the knockdown late but if not for that knockdown Errol loses that fight.

These two men are great. I hope they recover well. I love great fights but nobody thinks about after. Lots of casuals who have never been in a WAR think you can just hop back in the ring tomorrow with the toughest sob but thats a very ignorant and unappreciative way of thinking. Boxing is hard on the body and very hard on the brain.
A Spence-Porter trilogy would be great for boxing. They put on a great fight and having them fight two or three more times would put a legacy for these fighters.

You could have knocked me over with a feather the way Shawn showed up..... Errols face ain't never looked like that. Proud for both those gentlemen.. Fight of the year... Now, I wonder who Errol fights next, and i wonder if he fights one more this year. Prolly not. I predict either January or February.....
@Drew Aranda thats cuz their different types of fighters... Spence is a calculated puncher.. He takes his time with his punches.. Porter is a brawler (he's not trying to win the "punch total" he trying to knock your ass out).. By evenly matched I meant both fighters are extremely tough and gave it 110% from start to finish, in their respective fighting styles..

Personally I don't think here will be a rematch, Spence came close to losing it all, he'll just say there is no money in fighting you again. And I was routing for Errol, but goddamn! Porter was an absolute Beast. Huge respect for him, I would love to see that rematch.

@Ced99 we mustve seen a different fight, cause i had that fight extremely close with the knockdown being a factor. Crawford take 0's away from people... Indongo, Horn, Benavidez....all undefeated till the met Crawford. Crawford is a problem, i cant stress enough....he adapts to anyones fight style and makes them change to his. This is what makes boxing entertaining...the love of the sport and the breakdown of fighters to guess on who could win. I believe crawford will beat spence, u feel the opposite....one thing i do know... With that display Spence gave.... Pacman would eat him alive.

I ordered the fight to see Spence but I am definitely more interested in seeing more of Porter. Shawn got a lotta of heart and I see his charisma in this press conference.
If not for the knockdown, if you can even call it a knockdown, I would have had this a draw. There was never a clear winner in any round I watched, back and forth thru the whole thing. Big props to Porter for letting it all go and big props to Spence for proving he can withstand serious punishment and dish it out. Rematch should be a no brainer, id watch this again.

Porter would land a good one then miss the rest of the combo. Alot of his punches got slipped or hit shoulder and glove. Look at the slomo replays. He fights too damn close and fast to see during the foght. I understand why they'd say poter won but Spence landed more cleaner punches and he didn't fold under all that pressure. Porter was a dog. He fought like he had nothing to lose but Spence won this.
@Kewan ~ That's right. Spence has a 84% KO rate to Porter's 52%. AND Spence landed more shots than Porter. IMO Spence should've hit Porter with a quick righthand on his way down. Then he wouldn't have gotten up so quickly.
Yes as a former fighter I watched this fight without sound as well spence landed cleaner punches.
@derrio gray ok the official count is 221 - 172, so Spence landed 39 more. It's not that crazy. Plus we have to take into consideration which punches were more effective, we can't just go by numbers. If we only go by numbers than judging becomes a "I touch him more so I win" thing, this has nothing to do with boxing we want to measure which fighters inflicted the more punishment on the opponent. Scoring just by numbers, then soon we have only fighters who run and touch and think they win because they touch you more. A heavy blow for instance that staggers the opponent should count as much as 20 light jabs imo.
Ofc it is hard to judge who punched who harder I understand that but we have to try.

I can’t tell a lie, I love Spence as a fighter and how he carries himself on the road to be Champ! Even after! I love the way he is bouncing back. But to this point Shawn gave him the most lumps I ever scene. He reminds me of a episode of Martin Lawrence.

I think Shawn earned a LOT of fans and respect in that split loss. I agree with what Deontay Wilder said - if Spence hadn't rocked him with that one vicious shot and made him touch the canvas and get the mandatory 8 count, it would have been essentially a draw for me as well.

If you look at that knockdown again, Porter knows he's got to get the knockout to win. You can see the disappointment on his face. Very close fight but everybody knows what it is. That knockdown was basically a knockout. Great fight. They went after each other like dogs, especially Porter. But credit to Errol as well. He knew what Porter wanted to make the fight and he stood in there and got grimy and nasty with him. That's part of why his face was marked up, the headbumping and elbows they had going on in there was crazy. Yeah, Errol was definitely hitting him low, but none of it was egregious. Porter also had his trunks up to his chest so that played a part of it. CRAZY good fight by both guys and I'd love to see it again.

Shawn was ahead on my score card-fought a great fight! Very similar to some of his last few fights whereas he got clipped & had that “one bad moment” in which was his demise. Love both fighters but ppl who thought Spence would run through him clearly don’t know who Shawn Porter is 💪🏽

I would think Errol would be totally thankful that Shawn promoted this fight. Why argue about it? I mean it's good for him also so just be happy he did promote it. He traveled all over and did interviews and appearances to get people who may not be that into boxing to watch so that's awesome. Changing lanes for a second, both of them did a hell of a job and this fight was great for boxing fans. All energy was in the ring, every round.

Hard to say....I think most ppl thought it was going to be easy for Spence. Porter usually comes up short against quality opponents. I think Porter was better prepared for Spence than Spence for Porter. I don’t know how much Kenny trains Shawn but someone did a great job. I was mainly impressed with Shawn’s footwork he just needs to work on accuracy.

This ways a great fight to see to warriors coming forward and doing there thing..No running around the ring boxing ...I have always admired figher who come forward and knockout artist...Marvin Hagler,Mike Tyson,Harry Greb and Herny Armstrong..I stand corrected,I thought Porter was going to win but Spence took the fight to him and beat him at his own game...Much respect to both fighter....
