That was one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen, period. To get back up after that knockdown. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. As soon as he got knocked down I thought "Shit, that's it. You were so close... so close". And he gets back up?!? Gets back up and then starts to take the fight to Wilder?! God bless you Tyson Fury.

Of course he fights for himself, its family, money etc.But something inside me is telling that he also wants to inspire people with similar brain problems.I start to like this man very much.

REEL FIENDS MOVIE REVIEWS 4 years ago +155

The JRE Podcast really gained Fury a ton of new fans, because everyone heard his story and personality/energy. This last fight gained him even more. Tremendous heart and will... the dude is an inspiration. How he got up after that knock down, unbelievable display of will. He definitely won that fight hands down. Reading also he is using his entire 10 million dollar purse, to help those in need, alcoholics, the homeless.
Nothing but respect to this man. Walking living Saint in my book. And a helluva fighter in and out the ring.

I'm a single father of 3 young children.
I have a bit of an alcohol problem that's under control.

If Tyson can do it, any good man can !
How he lost the weight staggers me.

    • Dylan JaWorski
      Dylan JaWorski 4 years ago

Someone in the crowd stated that Fury is one of the only guys who did not get knocked out by Wilder, but he did get knocked out out. Fury was knocked out COLD for 9 seconds on the record, and the ref did not start the count when fury first hit the canvas. So, I would say," That Fury WOKE UP the fastest after getting knocked out cold." What i am saying here, is that all of Wilder's opponents who were knocked out cold, eventually woke up and then stood up. Not one of Wilder's former opponents died in the ring, or had to be took out on a stretcher accept one opponent that I can recall (Artur Szpilka). So, if one wakes up in 9 seconds as opposed to 60 seconds, that does not change the fact that they were all KNOCKED OUT COLD....End of story!!!!!

    TWISTEDLEFTHOOK 4 years ago +19

I have to admit that Fury shut my mouth, what a class act, what a boxer, what a man of overcoming everything against him....
As of last night, I became a Fury fan and I wish him all the best for the rest of his boxing career.

@Benjamin ZAOUI lol, I'm an idiot? Seriously Furys 2 year exile from a sport he loves was because he didn't respect his sport enough to follow anti doping rules! His homophobic comments and misogynistic comments is why people have an issue with him! He is no champ (lineal or real). Plus if the count was started sooner he would have been KO'd! Simply Sir you are a moron! (don't mean that just saying it for promotion purposes) dick!

@Ra Bk haha I said wilder won two rounds 10-8 that's how you count a knockdown but Fury won the rest 10-9 it's simple. 116 Fury to 110 Wilder. What do you want for a knockdown haha.

Theres something about a man who can dig himself out of a hole so dark that you cant see the light. He should be so proud of the heart hes shown and the example hes set for not just boxers, but humanity. Hes someone i can tell my kids that even though the world is against you..YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! He won that fight btw and how the hell did he get up in time..incredible heart!

I say they both fought like warriors, and it takes two great fighters to put on a show like that. I was impressed with Deontays stamina and his patience, he managed to stay calm and ignore Furys banta. But also Fury pulled out some nice combinations, and seemed to be landing at will in the mid part of the fight. Hats off to both fighters, they brought us one of the best fights in heavy weight history. Definitely was close as well, shame it always seems to be a draw these days. But i expect the 2nd battle will prolly be even better. Great night of boxing for the heavy weight division, roll on Chisora v Whyte

I also have much respect for Wilder. Wilder is much lighter and a bit shorter the Tyson. Wilder has power but needs more accuracy. Nevertheless, the champ has a string of KO’s and that must be respected.

I saw the knock down and agree the count and after he got up the ref gave him extra time to regroup.
Even with that said Wilder is limited in his fighting skills. He should have destroyed Fury after he got up from the long count. He should have systemically picked that large target apart. A skilled boxer would have, he isn't.

Fury getting up so easily after taking such a hard knockdown is more inspiring than it being just a sporting moments, especially given his own comeback. Inspired more people that when you've been knocked down, you can climb back up again.

I DEFINITELY believe that although Fury was knocked down twice, he absolutely dominated the fight. Nonetheless, no matter who we thought deserved the win, they put on an amazing fight. Literally was the embodiment of entertainment at its finest. Well worth every penny.

I hadn't watched boxing for nigh on 20 years since (Mike) Tyson's reign but Tyson Fury has reignited the sport for me. And this press conference, wow.. He's so open, honest and vulnerable, and look at his eyes - he's absolutely on fire here. He needs to be 6 foot 9" to contain all that spirit, the man is fucking awesome!

I don't know for sure if Conor is just an ass to get people to watch his fights or not . He might be talking all that shit talk just to get people sucked into his fights , like half of the time hoping he gets laid out . I think he disrespects himself and so not worth it . Then again maybe connor really is an asshole .

I’m a Wilder supporter but even though I liked Fury the man, you cant help love the guy let’s face it, I didn’t rate him as an exciting fighter and I genuinely didn’t think he stood much chance against Wilders power. I overlooked his way superior boxing pedigree, and didn’t think he’d be able to put on such a brilliant performance after abusing his body the way he did. Fury gave Wilder a boxing lesson but also came very close to losing, a draw in those circumstances is a fair result considering Wilder is the champion. Big respect to both boxers. Wilder will need to improve dramatically if he wants to win a rematch which I think in fairness to Fury should be held on home turf seeing as Wilder had home advantage.

How can you not like, Tyson Fury? He's been through hell, hit the bottom of the barrow but, got back up...by getting the professional help that he knew he needed. And look at him now. Still a world boxing Champion. Even though the "Boxing World" knows he won his fight against Wilder...Tyson, is not making a big deal of it. As he says. "It is what it is and it's over"! And they will never change the results. The crooked judge that gave Wilder the node...should never be allowed to judge again.

Total respect to you,you wear you heart on your sleeve, the world champion who owns no belts, you are a roll model to others from both sides of the fence, you show discipline in doing what you did from an undisciplined road and speak openly about it,you are a credit to the travelling community and the Irish, and I'm English by the way,now keep it together and unify the belts take what is rightfully yours then gracefully retire the undefeated champion that you are.
