Tyson once said ( in reference to Wilder vs AJ negotiations) if two boxers want to fight, they’ll fight for 50-50 .. When boxers don’t want to fight, they’ll argue over splits and use that as excuse “

Tyson Fury overestimated himself in every way, and Usky tolerated it up until it went too far. Fury has made himself look really bad here, and the fans aren't going to let him get away with it on social media. It's a shame too many of these boxers today disrespect the fans this way by not giving them the fights they want to see.

Can I just say that it is much appreciated to hear a promoter speak with such dignity, respect and decency. You can tell he is all about being fair and speaking the truth.

I've followed Oleksandr Usyk's career since before he entered (and cleaned out) the WBSS Cruiserweight tournament... and he's clearly one of the easiest fighters to deal with - he's accepted fights against pretty much every opponent in their own backyards while he hoovered up their titles - never once was there any drama or prolonged negotiations up to this point... There is only one person to blame for this fight not happening and it isn't Usyk.

@super sprinter156 fury has ruined this match due to greed and acting like he is the guy with the most belts demanding he gets the better deal even though he holds less belts that usyk. How can we call tyson the king when he doesn't want to fight upcoming guys. They should all be made/forced to fight these fighters because at the end of the day there all in the heavy weight devision. They shouldn't be allowed to pick or choose there next fight to benefit them. Boxing has quite literally gone to shit as is and always has been about money.

@super sprinter156 so if Tyson says, rematch you get 10% and this fight I pick the gloves, ring size (remember BJS wouldn't fight Canelo without them consession), who walks first (even though Usyk has Ring/IBO/WBA Super/IBF/WBO), who gets announced first, home town advantage, PPV point in his favour, his promotion and Usyk says ehmm anything for me? Got to say I believe every word Krassyuk says. I find him so genuine.
He's right in that you can bow down to demands up to a point before you have to stop for your own pride. Sounds like Fury was changing the goalposts and just throwing obstacles down until there was one they were unwilling to jump over.
I was a real Fury fan when he made his comeback, and his trilogy v Wilder. But the last few months after seeing these Joshua, and now Usyk negotiations, the man just comes over as greedy, manipulative, and above all afraid of Usyk.
Usyk is a genuine man and a world class boxer. Fury is the latter, but a million miles from the former.

I have the utmost respect for Usyk and his team, they've conducted themselves impeccably throughout this entire charade, unfortunately they're dealing with someone who, I personally think, is bigger than the sport of boxing itself.

This is an absolute disgrace. Months of negotiations and procrastination and in the end there is no fight. Kudos to the women who fight the best with the best and do not run away from real difficult challenges, while men run away from real difficult challenges just looking for excuses to avoid the fight. It's a shame what boxing has fallen into. After the fight between Fury and Chisora, Fury called out Usyk and now it turns out to be pointless, because from the very beginning Fury did not want that fight, but he sold the fog to everyone that he wanted to fight Usyk and now there is no fight. I'm a fan of AJ and Fury, but I have to be objective and honest, Fury is the only one to blame for why this fight won't happen. Boxing needed this fight, this was supposed to be a historic fight where two undefeated boxers are fighting for the unification of all belts with the fact that we are talking about 4 belts. Big respect to Usyk and his team for giving absolutely everything to make the fight happen and agreed to all the things that were offered to them in the end, but Fury then comes with new demands and new and new demands, now it's clear why he was doing it because he was just looking for a way out and finally got a way out. As a boxing fan, I am very disappointed that this fight will not happen.Words without action are worth nothing.

Seems to me like Tyson Fury and his teams demands have caused the fight to fall through. When Usyk accepted the 70/30 split I was sure the fight was on, now the extra demands have made the fight be cancelled. I just loved boxing back in the day when superfights were easier to make because the fighters cared more about their legacy than all what I've heard which has made this fight fall through. Marvelous Marvin Hagler gave Sugar Ray Leonard everything he wanted to make the fight happen. I just wish it could have happened with Fury's team that everything was split down the middle seeing that Usyk has 3 of the titles

I blame Fury for this mess. The rematch split may be the straw that broke the camel’s back, but it’s the result of the build-up of Usyk’s resentment that Fury has created since negotiations began. I also agree with Krassyuk’s assessment that Fury would prefer no rematch because if the fight goes to points in Wembley he has a good chance to get the decision, but that would not be the case in a rematch on foreign soil. And on the flip side, that’s why Usyk wants to have it in the contract.

    • Hé Bo
      Hé Bo 2 months ago

Usyk is not bad at evading but he doesn't take punch well, how can it go to the score cards ? If you pretend to be the best you make a statement of it in the ring so you can't be robbed even in the worst case. This is supposed to be a fight game not touchy touchy amateur bollocks. Points are supposed to be a last ressort to assess who can be declared the winner if none has been able to finish his opponent, not a goal.

    • Justin Neill
      Justin Neill 2 months ago

@Hé Bo So basically you’re saying that Fury vs Klitschko where he gained his world title was a bit of a shit-show (the least number of punches thrown in a heavyweight title fight, as I recall.) At least we agree on something. And yes, obviously sometimes a fight goes to the scorecards despite the fighters’ best efforts to gain a stoppage, happens all the time.

Team Fury wanted to change the terms of the rematch clause. The rematch clause probably stated that the winner of the first bout gets 60%. Team Fury wanted to revise that so that Fury gets 10% more than what the rematch clause stated.
It must be noted that the rematch clause applies only if they fight in the U.K. If they fight in the ME, each fighter gets paid separately from the ME promoters.

Well done again Dan for getting the interview with this man. I have huge respect for Alex Krassyuk. I have absolute belief what he says. Says it as it is. Waiting to hear what your other friend Frankie boy has to say and what excuses he will come up with. Frankie has always told us that Fury VS Usyk was an easy fight to make. He has always been critical of AJ and Eddie Hearn. Bob Arum even went on to say that Eddie knows nothing about promoting boxing ? It is fact that Fury could not agree a deal with the Saudi's when Usyk did. John Fury and the whole Fury clang were critical of the Saudi's initially claiming that the Saudi's were disrespectful to Tyson only then to change their mind at the Paul VS Tom Fury fight eating humble pie and John Fury even claiming that he was fasting . Fury is to blame is holding up the heavyweight division just like Wilder did. He should just vacate and take on fights that make him most money and not legacy

The point about Usyk's previous paydays is so important. He made more money fighting AJ than he would against Fury both times. But this time he has more belts, ring magazine and Fury is not the biggest payday available to him

    • Hé Bo
      Hé Bo 2 months ago

Purse is about marketablity not about how many belts you have or how many pride of yourself you have genius.
Besides all Usyk belts represent 4 fights at heavyweight, Fury belt and lineal status represent 34 fights at heavyweight.

  • Simon Freeman

Fury has been dragging his heels since he backed out of Joshua fight. There's only so far he can push Usyk before he has to let pride decide his decision. Fury calling the shots as he does makes a joke of the whole scene. Usyk doesn't deserve this maltreatment.

  • Creations Unlimited

I think this fight may be one that escapes us all. I wouldn't know who to back if I am honest. I think Tyson is a man mountain and may punch much harder but Usyk is a phenomenon. The Ukrainian boxers are all exceptional and Usyk may have to wait until Fury packs it in to be undisputed champion, unless someone else stops him

Fury to blam for the other guy action. That's the level of consciousness and responsability of your modern day man !
      It's Usyk who pulled out.
Hearn has a record of not delivering the big fights (heard about Joshua and the three big names at heavyweight at the time ? Who is the one who was unable to break a deal with the other two ?), Warren hasn't.

Fury is a bigger name than Usyk and that's a fact. Number of belts don't mean nothing since any belt Usyk currently holds is Tysons belt until he beats him.

There would not need to be an agreement on the purse split for the rematch if there was no rematch clause - which we learn that Fury has asked to have it added back in ... so either you don't accept the rematch clause and Fury walks - otherwise you accept it on his 70/30 terms or he also walks

As a Fury fan, I cannot ignore the fact that he often presents a perplexing contradiction in his approach. However, I try to maintain an objective perspective and acknowledge that Fury recognises Usyk as a formidable adversary, even if he doesn't explicitly say it, despite Usyk being wrongly classified as a middleweight. In my opinion, Fury would emerge victorious if they were to face each other in the ring. Nonetheless, as a fan, I eagerly anticipate their impending encounter.

Fury is the Bobby Fischer of boxing. He's so scared of even the possibility of losing, that he's using negotiations to prevent rather than secure a match. He'll happily wear down an opponent before the match with gab and bad deals.

Fury is to blame for the fight falling through. Krassyuk doesn't blame Warren. He says that he will have no problems negotiating with Warren's other fighters, which means that Fury is the problem. Usyk's understanding of the payment for this fight was that his acceptance of 70/30 meant that a rematch would be paid 70/30 to the winner. Such was Usyk's confidence. Fury was uncomfortable with that and that's where negotiations broke down. Fury could not have stated more clearly that he was frightened that Oleks would beat him. Twice.

It’s really shameful that Fury always makes a lot of noise for no reason. Himself and Wilder also think in their head that they bring in the money. Usyk agrees to all this terms and yet fight not made.

@Jim Reaper Did you not hear what was being said ????. Tyson Fury was the one who put the rematch in the contract !!! Tyson Fury wants it 70/30 in his favour for both fights !!! If he loses the first fight he still wants 70/30 for the second fight even though he has no belt to put on the table !!! That is the most stupid demand ever made !!! If Tyson wanted this fight he would have accepted 50/50 for both fights !!!!. I am glad Usyk has said do one to fury !!!!. Usyk has three belts and alot more to lose than just the one belt Tyson holds !!!. So if Usyk wins the first fight and he gets all four belts he should only get 30% for the rematch ??? What planet is fury on ????. Fury is deluded if he thinks Usyk woul accept that silly split !!!! Greedy belly is what Fury is !!!!. Usyk was right !!!. This was the one chance Tyson had to win the other three belts and he priced himself out of it !!!. Should have accepted 50/50 for both fights !!!

Fury would rightly have been considered the favourite against Usyk, with all his physical advantages. That’s why it’s so baffling that Fury with all his diva demands & conditions has ensured the fight isn’t taking place. He talked the talk, but wasn’t willing to walk the walk. Shame.

I don't believe Fury is scared of Usyk. If AJ could hurt Usyk Fury can too, and Fury is levels above AJ. I think Fury's real concern is becoming undisputed because that means he either has to really retire or keep fighting at the world class level, and his hunger after the Wilder trilogy might not be what it use to be. Either way, this is Fury's fault this fight did not happen.

Let me tell you this. Fury went back to his old habits a few times, he tasted some cake, his hunger grew more for money than for glory, and Usyk is hungry all the time. His team knows that Fury will withdraw because he is not prepared, so they went at all costs Fury's conditions for the fight to take place. Fury needs time and the British are afraid of losing the last heavyweight belt, so it's good for them. The fight will take some time. Fury will make a good shape And then he will defeat Usyk. My opinion fight in half a year Saudi Arabia much more money and everyone is happy
