First time when i listened to the album this was actually one of the songs which caught my attention immediately. The production, the chorus and his lyricism. So simple yet so effective.
No artist I have ever listened to in my lifetime makes me feel I'm not working hard enough more than this man. He just oozes talent and dedication to his craft. Like he is 10 years ahead of these rappers and they don't even realize it lol #KingKendrick
They realize it. He’s the Van Gogh of rappers or Jean Basquiat. It’s just another level. Light years away from most people but I appreciate that he brings words we can all relate to in our way
I connected to this sound to a level that is transcendental. I struggle with depression even when I'm actually conquering stuff... it feels exatcly like this... I can only complain to myself (phone not connected), the enthusiasm to dance but never to leave home until I find myself singing completely emotionless, careless. When he looks at the camera, I feels to me it's like an attempt to be seen different, that the real him is there trying to talk and trust me, this beat is almost like the heartbeat of someone with severe anxiety, when he is on the floor, his finger is moving. The phone ring is life calling back but despite everything, even at the end when he is glowing on the white suit, he didn't pick up... THANK YOU, KENDRICK LAMAR.
@Simon Chripko Even dark, terrible things can be beautiful. I believe one must see the beauty in everything. Even if we hate it and it causes us great suffering. I understand that you don't like when people glorify such things, or use them as an excuse, because believe me I hate that stuff too. But not everyone is like that or glorifying their struggles in a clout chasing / virtue signalling / etc. ulterior motives type of way.
Kendrick is a hood artist ...he paints pictures of everyday life struggle/corruption/self spirituality ..and the struggles of striving toward good but contemplating it because of the struggles we're left with.. Kendrick is like a spiritual filter and listening to his music makes feel good ,like I'm not alone..we will thrive brotha an God will not leave us alone.
This is 5D rap bro. Most the shit he talking about is about the shift and coons sticking to this 3D world. The new earth…he even says it the second verse…You hear it but you ain’t listening 😂😂😂
And notice how nothing social media post internet is in any frame. Its all pen and pad, old school telephone, piano ect. I love the sense of time even though the curtains are drawn. LOVE IT
Those finger taps on the floor. Ear to the basement. Self Exhaustion but The reflection and the movement… ooof .. the play back into the same zone… red. The soldier effect. The down moments of contemplation and drive… The lyrics fit the vibe …Agh Kendrick is truly an artist. I’m so satisfied, just to feel a part of it.
in his song feel form damn he says his thoughts are in the basement opposed to the saying people use "theres alot going on upstairs" meaning their thinking to much,

The first time I watched this video, I was just vibing and not paying attention to the color schemes and other details. It’s my favorite song on the album so I didn’t care. I just watched it again today and I noticed so many things and just got a deeper meaning to the video. The album touches on topics relating to trauma, healing, therapy, aura and spirituality. The colors, the lyrics and actions in this video are great clues. He’s obviously isolating himself from the world (“Can’t f*ck with you no more I’m ‘fasting’) Rich Spirit - The video begins with Dot in all red. Red in spirituality can represent security, in healing it represents burning out a disease, in aura represents materialism or materialistic ambition. It could be that the red was showing him burning out negativity, materialism. The part where he gets up and faces the wall like he was looking in a mirror, then pushes off while saying “Can’t f*ck with you no more I’m fasting” could be him cutting himself off from that mentality. A few moments later he is in sync with the lyrics then stops when he says “why you lying on Benjamin, he’s turning in his grave/ I’ll be lying if I say I will give this sh*t away”. Then he lays on the floor kind of like signifying dead to me. Could mean that version of himself was dead or dying since his finger could still tap. The part where he wears a robe and is talking to the phone could signify the social life, talking to people about AP’s, and cooler friends with the eye rolls and all, and you can see that in the end he’s on his bed seemingly drained from all that social “talk” and useless conversations. Next the video shows him in Green and Blue. Green is the color of healing. In aura it’s signifies balance, peace and one’s ability as a healer. Blue in spirituality can represent inner peace, in healing can represent calming, and in aura can represent contentment and spiritual development. The lyrics are also important here. He’s talking as a brother who has developed spiritually giving advice and trying to steer another or himself towards the light. He also was rapping to his reflection, so it could mean he was talking to himself as a brother. Lines like “Spirit Medium I don’t rap brother”, “We headed there (spiritual development) now, are you strapped (ready) brother” really stuck out to me. The road to healing and spiritual enlightenment could be gruesome, it’s important to ask if one is ready for it. Next the video shows him in a black robe this time. Black is the absence of color. It can represent mystery or the unconscious, it can also be visualized to help deep meditation. Black in the aura can represent something being hidden. In the world black could also relate to death or a funeral, and in the video, I noticed the roof over him closing, that could mean the symbolic closing, or funeral if I may of that chapter of his life (The burning out, The healing). Then the video shows him in White. White is associated with truth, purity, cleansing, healing and protection, the removal of pain and suffering. In the aura it signifies a high level of attainment, a higher level of soul incarnate to help others. I also noticed the light shining through the curtains, which wasn’t so throughout the video, he has attained enlightenment. He is also looking at his hands like he’s admiring his new being. Then the phone rings again, but it seems this time he’s ready.
the phone represents his mind, it got heated while he was taking to himself, then he ended the call after that, the ringing in the end was an interruption to him letting in the light, we got to find a balance and not think only with our minds but with our heart also
My Kings, keep your head straight and your rich spirit. Times may menace you with change, but only you can keep your essence. Stay true to yourself, stay strong. More power to you! Keep it up and fight, cuz this shit ain't easy. For anyone that has thought of taking their lives....You matter and you're loved. Keep walking tall, kings. Peace...
@Yesia boln Excuse me, take a sec and listen to some of the records I've made , then give me ur honest opinion on it. I'd really appreciate it fam 💯. Have a great week.
I like to imagine that this visualization was made for the childrens and that final call was made by J. Cole or Ab-Soul from the neighborhood no doubt (my dream) there is no more, thanks Kendrick for sharing your work with us again after 5 years, your opinions and your emotions. Rolling the dice again in this difficult time we live. One day at a time! 🪶🌹🥀
Im a HUGE Kendrick fan. I don't know why, but I almost always dont like his videos when they first come out. And I don't watch them again. Then out of the blue, the video makes sense to me, and are PERFECT. It's not that I watch them over and over and I come to like it. It's like I have a spontaneous download or something. Love this guy and his team. BTW this is my Fav song off the album, I relate to this song and video SO MUCH.
This is the best song he’s ever made and I can’t stop watching this video. It’s something in it that works in congruence with who I am. I don’t know, but it’s insane.
Man if this ain't that relatable state of mind, the state of loneliness but also kind of enjoying your own company, I don't know what is. Overthinking everything when alone, the deep true thoughts, the random dance you do to when no one is watching to release the stress, the anxiety. Thinking about life-good and bad. Kendrick will take you on a journey and make you feel a certain way, a true artist, a true gem. KDOT a real one🔥
This song and “Clover Cage - Make a Difference” are the two songs keeping me sane through these tough times. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you 🤍
I like how this videos depicts his isolation and him avoiding social interaction. He understands that solitude is healthier for his spirit in the long run but it's clearly taking a bigger toll on him than he expected. He clearly loves the freedom being alone gives him, but still craves community. This is symbolised by the phone or a knock that LITERALLY snaps him out of his groove. As if social relations disturb his peace which is hella relatable. EDIT: Did not expect 400 likes, thanks guys.

Outside of everything everyone in the comments saying it feels like this video got the same style the movie nope was using and if so that’s low key ran extra layer of genius because the whole movie was about not looking and indulging into the affairs of what was killing everyone in the movie
Whoa!! The symbolism in this video was amazing. The colors. Red (sinner/deviant) to White (enlightened/cleansed). The choice of timing. Night to day. It seems as if Kendrick was really "fasting" from something. The life of lust, pride, ego, addiction, and temptation? (Based on the theme of the album) To now focus on things that make him feel like a better person? Ex. being a father, abstaining from adultery, vices, etc. Right when he gets to that cleansed, bright, and wonderful stage of breakthrough where he was wearing white and freeing himself from the darkness the phone rings again. This is so symbolic of all of our vices, and how it's able to turn into a cyclical battle. Right when you're ready to change or recover you get sucked back in.. or at least tempted to. Anyways, I say all that to say that I enjoyed the visual aspect of this music video a lot! Excuse my ramblings. I'm high asf while watching this, but I picked up on the themes and symbolism of the setting and colors lol!
This is exactly what I was thinking. The part where he was on the disconnected phone told me to look into this video more. Awesome story being told here. Being in the industry, I'm sure that phone rings more often than not...
The artwork. The talent. Kendrick has already left his mark on earth. Absolutely beautiful!
Yap, this track is a genius artwork and with such a good groove.

The mannerism, the attitude, the intense looks in his eyes.. Kendrick is just more than just his music. I love this🔥🔥🔥

😌…THIS VIDEO IS “DOPE”‼️😌🙏🏿🖤
Thiisss my shit and it's gonna grow on me just like to pimp a butterfly...they're like fine wine
@Senik Nine Right! Thats Also what caught my attention at first!! He and his director had an awesome vision for this mv!
This is exactly what I was thinking. The part where he was on the disconnected phone told me to look into this video more. Awesome story being told here. Being in the industry, I'm sure that phone rings more often than not...
You went off with this analysis
