A 1:1 recreation of the entire universe in Minecraft is still a couple years away but there's no denying it is inevitable.

    • Jermain 20000

  • shawn hames
shawn hames 2 months ago +812

I'm surprised you didn't mention the 1:1 earth project. I mean it's not finished but they have whole cities completed already and all of Antarctica is finished.

    • Diamondman307
      Diamondman307 2 months ago +102

As a BTE builder, that's actually a bit of a misnomer - no cities are fully complete, and all of the *buildings* in Antarctica are done, just not the terrain.

    • The4thSoul
      The4thSoul 2 months ago +38

Im afraid the BTE project can NOT build the earth. As the earth is constantly changing meaning the data will be inconsitent and some errors will be made

    • Kell Medd
Kell Medd 2 months ago +65

@The4thSoul Well, one can build the Earth at a certain point in time. So in a sense it would be 1:1, but some things would be obsolete compared to y'know, times changing.

I had a period in 2020-2021 where I went absolutely ballistic making a new megabuild every month with my smallest one being 400x400 blocks, I entered building competitions and got 3rd place in one. But the stupid part was I never backed up any of my builds and the server i built them on shut creative down for good in 2022. So now, all I have to show for it might be a couple screenshots scattered within discord messages or hidden somewhere on my harddrive. Sadge
